We’ve been in business for 7 years, pursuing our mission of supporting places to be more prosperous, inclusive and sustainable. During that time we have had the opportunity to work with fantastic leaders in the public and private sector in pretty much every part of the country. We have experienced an unprecedented set of global health, economic, and political events, but the importance of place, as being the space for action on everything from levelling up, to recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic and sustainability, has never been clearer.
To secure our independent legacy, to embed our values, and to build our business for the future, we are now making two related and important changes.
We have transitioned Metro Dynamics into an Employee Ownership Trust, so that it is now employee owned, and we have appointed Pat Ritchie, CBE, as the Non-Executive Chair of our Business Board.
Becoming an Employee Ownership Trust underlines our commitment to being an independent business with a strong social purpose, that will protect the interests of its employees, and work to increase our positive impact on places. And having Pat Ritchie as our Non-Executive Chair will help us to hold true to our values and continue to develop our business.
Pat Ritchie will be well known to you, as a highly regarded and influential figure in the world of urban governance and regeneration. She has recently retired from the role of Chief Executive of Newcastle City Council and is Chair of the Government Property Agency (GPA) and a member of the Homes England Board.
As the Non-Executive Chair of Metro Dynamics, Pat will be responsible for Chairing our Business Board, providing guidance to our management team, advising on our people development strategy, providing values oversight, and being the figurehead for our thought leadership work. She will not be involved in our consulting work.
We are very excited about the future of our business and look forward to continuing to work with you in the years ahead.
