Ellis is focused on the economic transformation of places by building the case for, and executing the delivery of, capital investment.
He applies creative and rigorous analytical skills to projects across the policy life cycle, from delivering insightful economic evidence, to technical economic modelling and business case support. Ellis combines his quantitative skillset with a drive to apply policy solutions to complex issues in places, particularly involving economic geography, infrastructure finance, housing and planning, regeneration, and high streets. His recent work includes an Economic Impact Assessment for the regeneration of Euston Station, a Capital Investment Pitchbook for County Durham, and a regeneration strategy for Newmarket.
Ellis also works with the Inclusive Growth Network, giving Inclusive Growth implementation advice across the 12 member local authorities. In his previous work for Centre for Cities, Ellis conducted research into transport-oriented development and the economic case for planning reform.
